Common dental emergencies include:
- Cracked teeth
- Chipped teeth
- Broken teeth
- Severe toothache
- Knocked out (avulsed) teeth
Of these, a knocked out tooth is the most serious by far. The other emergencies need attention, but with a knocked out tooth you’re in a race against the clock. Ideally you will get attention in an hour or less. Longer than that, and the chances of saving the tooth drop considerably.
